How can you know who you really are when you have been wearing a mask all your life?

Is it possible that after so many years wearing that mask you have indeed become that mask? How can you know who you really are when you have been wearing a mask all your life?
masks are to be worn when in company of the others. it's being called 'proper education', 'common sense', 'socially acceptance' or else but they basically mean to lie about your true self, indeed. that's why everyone should enjoy their own company more often - it's the perfect time to take the mask or the masks off. so, i'd say that as long as your personal ideas are at least as strong as the 'majority''s, you can still master your own life - you still know who you really are.How can you know who you really are when you have been wearing a mask all your life?
What you see is what you get.

Even when I was hiding, I did it through alcohol. To stand myself, I had to get drunk.
I am not wearing one. Perhaps you are, though.

You are against wind, tide, and everything else. Why not let that mask of negativity go, and set yourself free?

You are being rather judgemental, aren't you?
Excellent, excellent question. Taking off that mask is one of the progressions in life expected of us. You have taken the first step.
