Lightheadedness is telling you your brain is not getting enough O2. Why would you take it off before the doctor or RT tell you it's alright?They must be monitoring your saturation level with a finger probe. They'll watch your progress and wean you off the O2 ASAP. They don't want to take chances.
If you've got a chest tube and probably in ICU how are you posting this? The nurses don't usually allow laptops in the rooms.

Let the clinician ';wean'; you off the oxygen. Do you understand what a pnemothorax is? A collapsed lung! Taking your oxygen off prematurely can result in decreased SP02 level. You do not want to fall below 80%. It can escalate into a serious situation.
Probably. The mask was giving you 100% oxygen, as opposed to 21% Oxygen in the air we breathe. You may feel light headed, much like you would if you went to a high altitude.
funny u put it down to not being on our o2 mask..why cant it be something to do with why u were in hospital which u havent told us anything about
